The Mother of inventions: Safety Device-Airbags

Hi friends,
Todays hot topic of discussion is about the airbags...a life saving device...
Airbag is a large fabric bag used as a safety device in almost all vehicles. These airbags inflate and deploy during crashes and help save human lives.
Design of airbags:

From the above figure; we can see that airbags has three main components,
·         1.Crash sensors
·         2.Control unit
·         3.Inflator

Due to frontal crash force is generated and so the crash sensors are activated. They measure deceleration. Actually there is a wrong perception that the airbags are activated due to sudden braking which is incorrect. They are activated due to deceleration generated due to severest braking. When this crash sensors are activated signal is sent to control unit which further delivers signal to inflator to deploy the airbags.
Working:-
When there is a frontal crash a signal is sent to the inflator. An igniter is present near the inflator which starts the chemical reaction. Due to this chemical reaction gas is filled inside the airbag, making the airbag to deploy from the cover. A pallet of Sodium Azide (NaN3) is ignited due to which a rapid chemical reaction occurs and nitrogen gas is filled inside the bag.
The invention of Airbags has saved many human lives. Researchers have revealed that when Air bags were made mandatory in U.S.A. over 15,000 lives were saved. The drivers don’t have to do anything during collisions the airbags inflate themselves. During one crash, the entire inflation and deployment process occurs which is faster than the blink of an eye. In case of severe crashes Airbags deploy within 0.015 seconds and 0.025 seconds for low speed crashes. This was the best technological invention - fully automatic. Usually in the research it is seen that passengers in cars fitted with airbags have 30 % less chances of dying that with the cars not fitted with airbags. Once the airbag is used it has to be replaced which costs approximately Rs. 45,000 in India. I think so, spending 45,000 is worth then compromising with your life.

Small Research on ""Colors Of Cars !!!! ""

Hi friends,
Recently i have done a small research on the Changing Of Customer Preferences Behind Selection Of Colors.
In the earlier days the color silver made the world of automobiles to glow. Many consumers initially preferred this color. But with the shift towards more globalization in the automotive industry, regional preferences are influencing the global trend. In most of the regions of the world along with the color silver black and white has started gaining in interest among consumers. Both silver and black/black effect saw a 2 percent gain in global popularity in the 2010, with white remaining flat over last year. Gray increased in popularity by three percentage points. While regional preferences remain for red and blue, both have fallen three percentage points this year over last. According to me a trend toward brown and beige increasing in popularity as well.

According to the survey the top 10 global vehicle colors are as follows:-
Global market research of colors of cars in 2010
From the above image we can say that, silver and black colors are mostly preferred nowadays by the customers and are very close by only 2%.So we can conclude saying that in 2010 silver ,black ,gray and white colors are taking the lead in terms of customer preferences.
As per the forecasted data according to me in next 2-3 years this pattern will remain more or less constant.

I hope in your mind you also would have the first four colors for your cars.
My vote goes to metallic gray..... :-)

Hi friends,
This is my first blog on" www.blogger.com "..I have been writing many blogs during my engineering days but on different sites.I believe instead of sitting idle, facebooking, chit-chatting , and doing some other work which will not add up to your talent is a waste. If you think you have the talent then PROVE IT !!! This can only be done by doing some extra curricular activities, mentoring, projects or by sharing your talent by writing blogs.
Huh !!!! Now some one would say .... " STOP giving lectures Nikhil "!!!Teachers, mentors, parents and now you!!! Ohhhh...... f9 f9 ....i will stop :-)
